My roommates and I have chosen "tacky" as the decorating theme for our living room. This theme has recently begun to creep beyond the living room, as evidenced by the two metal figure dinosaurs fighting over a heinous long-necked stuffed animal near the thermostat in our hallway. We have accumulated quite the collection of tackiness. We have even had a branch member approach us saying that she had something from her Grandma's basement that would go great in our apartment.
One of our tacky tributes is dedicated to "Live, Laugh, Love". We all share somewhat antagonistic sentiments toward this mantra, which, while a good message, seems to be overused. Accordingly, we currently have several tacky plaques and a plate that bear those three words hanging up on one of our walls. We decided that it would be a good idea to grow our Live, Laugh, Love collection by adding a group picture. And an idea was born.
The three of us had already registered for the Color Run. And we participated in it recently. It was very dirty and very enjoyable. We started out wearing all-white and ended up looking like...well...you can see the picture above. During the drive to Atlanta for the race, we used some masking tape to write out "Live", "Laugh" and "Love" on our respective white shirts. After running the race, there was hardly any white remaining on our shirts until we removed the tape, revealing the words in white, contrasted against the color. And, as you can see, we got our picture. Now all we need is to print it, put it in a cheesy frame, and hang it up in our awesome place of residence. Good times.
